Mandy and I go way back to college. She and I were both Photography majors at Syracuse University. She now lives in Alaska, and works as a teacher at a school where she met her husband, Tim. Their vintage inspired wedding was set at her family’s house on Cape Cod. The setting was beautiful! Everywhere I turned there was another detail to photograph. Mandy’s dress was unlike any I had ever seen before…she bought it at a vintage store in Prague, and added parts of her mom’s wedding dress to the back of her dress, as a bustle. The bridesmaids wore vintage inspired dresses. The groomsmen wore hand made buttoniers, that incorporated Mandy’s grandmother’s buttons. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Tim’s father hand made all sorts of delicious pies the day before the wedding. The morning of the wedding it was pouring rain outside but by the time the guests started to arrive, the sun was shining and everyone was in the wedding spirit! This was by far my most favorite wedding I’ve ever shot, partly because of Mandy and her wonderful family, but also because of all of the thought and beauty that went into every detail.
